About Birla Mandir Jaipur
Birla Mandir Jaipur is located on the foothills of Moti Dungri fort in Jaipur. The temple is also known as Laxmi Narayan Temple as it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. This temple is one of many Birla temples across the country, built by B.M. Birla Foundation. They are collectively known as Birla Mandir. The construction of this temple began in 1988, after the Maharaja of Jaipur gave the land for the token amount of one rupee.
Birla Mandir Jaipur is made of white marble and has a serene and divine atmosphere. It looks stunning in the daylight and is illuminated at night. Inside, you’ll find beautifully crafted statues of Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi and other Hindu deities. The walls are also adorned with delicate carvings of Hindu symbols and ancient quotes from the Geeta and the Upanishads. The temple also depicts mythological events and showcases pictures and figures of religious saints, philosophers and historical figures like Socrates, Buddha, Zarathustra and Confucius.

History & Architecture Of Birla Mandir Jaipur
Birla Mandir Jaipur was constructed by the famous Birla family, who got the land from the Maharaja of Jaipur for the token amount of just one rupee. The construction of the temple started in 1977 under the guidance of Ramanauj Das and Ghanshyam Birla and it was officially opened on February 22, 1988. The temple is made of white marble and has three domes representing different religions in India. These domes symbolise India’s secularism.
The entrance of Birla Mandir features an image of Lord Ganesha, a prominent deity in Hindu festivals. Inside, there are sculptures of Hindu deities like Lakshmi, Narayan and Ganesh as well as figures like Christ, the Virgin Mary, St. Peter, Buddha, Confucius and Socrates on the outer walls. The temple has stained glass windows outside which depict scenes from Hindu mythology. There is a small temple with white marble and gold idol of Lord Shiva located just outside the main temple. Statues of the founders, Rukmani Devi Birla and Braj Mohan Birla, are placed outdoors in covered pavilions.
