Amer Fort Jaipur, also known as Amber Fort, is a historical fort situated in Amer, about 11 kilometres away from Jaipur, Rajasthan. The fort is situated on hills and offers a scenic view of Maota Lake. It is a popular tourist destination in Jaipur, known by various names like Amer ka Kila, Amber Palace, Amber Fort and Amer Palace.
Nahargarh Fort Jaipur is situated on the Aravalli Hills, was built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in 1734 as a summer retreat. The strong wall of the Nahargarh Fort stretched across the nearby hill till Jaigarh Fort. Nahargarh Fort forms a strong defence For Jaipur along with Jaigarh Fort and Amer Fort. The Fort was previously named ‘Sudarshangarh’ but later it became known as Nahargarh, meaning ‘abode of tigers’. It is said that the spirit of a Rathore ruler, Nahar Singh Bhomia hindered its construction until a temple for him was built inside the fort.
The City Palace Jaipur is one of the most famous tourist attractions situated in the old part of Jaipur. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II from 1729 to 1732. The Palace has different parts like courtyards, buildings and gardens including the Chandra Mahal and the Mubarak Mahal. Other parts of the Palace include Mukut Mahal, Maharani’s Palace, Shri Govind Dev Temple, Diwan-i-Am and Diwan-i-Khas. There’s also a museum called Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Which displays special handcrafted items and holds a collection of royal items from the past raja-maharajas.
Birla Mandir Jaipur is located on the foothills of Moti Dungri fort in Jaipur. The temple is also known as Laxmi Narayan Temple as it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. This temple is one of many Birla temples across the country, built by B.M. Birla Foundation. They are collectively known as Birla Mandir. The construction of this temple began in 1988, after the Maharaja of Jaipur gave the land for the token amount of one rupee.
Jantar Mantar Jaipur is an astronomical observatory situated near City Palace and Hawa Mahal in Jaipur. It was built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, who was a keen astronomer and wanted to create an accurate astronomical observatory. Jantar Mantar means “instruments used to calculate”.
Jaipur Zoo spread over an area of 35 acres, is India’s most popular zoo. It is located in Ram Niwas Garden near Albert Hall Museum of Jaipur. It was founded in 1877 and is one of India’s oldest zoo’s. It was built with an intention to preserve and conserve wildlife including mammals, birds and reptiles. It is home to the richest fauna of Rajasthan and has around 550 animals and birds of more than 50 different species.
Jal Mahal Jaipur or “Water Palace” is situated in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur. The Palace is surrounded by the Aravali hills. Jal Mahal looks like a single storey building as four storeys of the palace have been submerged under the water. Therefore, it looks like the Palace is floating above the water. Jal Mahal also offers a stunning view of its surrounding landscape of Man Sagar Lake and Nahargarh Fort from its rooftop.
Hawa Mahal Jaipur, also known as Palace of winds is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Jaipur. This five-storey Palace was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799 as he was inspired by the unique structure of Khetri Mahal. The Hawa Mahal was designed by Lal Chand Ustad and it is built with the use of red and pink sandstone on the edge of the City Palace and extends till Zenana or women’s chambers.
Chhatarpur Mandir Delhi, popularly known as Shri Adya Katyayani Shaktipeeth Mandir is a famous Hindu temple located in South Delhi. The temple is spread in over 60 acres of area and is dedicated to Goddess Katyayani. The temple was established by Baba Sant Nagpal Ji in 1974. The Chhatarpur Mandir is now India’s second largest temple in Delhi after the construction of Akshardham Temple in 2005.
Shri Kalkaji mandir Delhi is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, another form of Maa Aadi Shakti. Located in the Kalkaji neighbourhood of Delhi, it is one of the most popular and revered temples in Delhi. The popularity of the temple can be ascertained from the fact that the surrounding region of the temple is known as Kalka. The main idol of the temple is a black stone statue of Ma Kali, which is said to be self-manifested.
