Lalbagh Botanical Garden is a famous garden known for its rich collection of plants and flowers. The Lalbagh botanical Garden is spread over an area of 240 acres and was established by Hyder Ali in the 18th century and was later expanded by his son Tipu Sultan. The ‘Lalbagh’ means ‘Red Garden’ which signifies the abundance of red roses which once used to be grown in the garden.
