About Kishkinta Theme Park Chennai
Kishkinta Theme Park is located on the outskirts of Chennai near Tambaram. It is a well-known amusement park famous for its variety of attractions. Kishkinta Chennai has something for everyone, from thrilling roller coasters to water games. The park was opened in 1995 and was founded by film producer and director Navodaya Appachan, who owns Navodaya Studio. The park is named after the monkey kingdom “Kishkindha” from the Indian epic Ramayana.
Spanning over an area of 120 acres, the park has various water rides, thrill rides and family-friendly entertainment options. Visitors can have exhilarating experiences on roller coasters, wave pools and water slides or relax on gentler rides like the lazy river and mini train. The park also features water rides like elephant splash, water volcano, water wars, etc. with various dry rides, making it a suitable place for visitors.
It’s an ideal spot for a fun day trip with its exciting roller coasters, refreshing water rides, with calm options for younger visitors. Kishkinta also hosts live shows with dance performances and magic acts, adding to its lively and family-friendly atmosphere.
The park also created six artificial lakes for rainwater harvesting to support the water rides. Unfortunately, Kishkinta theme park closed in 2016. For over two decades, it was a landmark of entertainment, giving countless families unforgettable moments of joy and laughter.
