About Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya

Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya or Prime Minister’s Museum is a tribute to all the Prime Minister of India since it’s Independence for their contribution in India’s development. The museum serves as a Narrative record, showcasing the collective efforts and demonstrating the remarkable achievements of India’s Democracy. It shows how with United efforts, India transformed from a state of starving situation to surplus of food, constructing vital infrastructure across barren territories for the betterment of our people.

The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya was Inaugurated on 14th April 2022 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is located next to Nehru Memorial Museum & Library on Teen Murti Marg. This Estate was the residence of India’s First Prime Minister Shri Jawaharlal Nehru. The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya seamlessly blends together the Renovated and modernised Nehru Museum Building which is equipped with technologically advanced displays showing the life and contribution of Shri Jawaharlal Nehru. There is also a dedicated section for extensive collection of rare gifts received from around the world that has never been exhibited.

The story of Modern India begins with the freedom struggle and the formation of our great constitution. The Sangrahalaya narrates how our Prime Minister guided the nation through various challenges, ensuring country’s progress.

Exhibits & Activities At Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya

Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya is divided between two area, i.e. Building 1 and Building 2. Building 1 is the old building and Building 2 is the new Building.

  • Reception: This section will answer your questions regarding the tour.
  • Audio Guide Room: It gives you an Audio Guide which will give you information about the different exhibits.
  • Welcome Area: This area has a architectural model of Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya.
  • India at the Independence – The British Legacy: This area will tell you how Indian economy & Agriculture decline during British Raj with the help of ‘Room Project Mapping’ Technology.
  • Makers of Indian Constitution: It is dedicated to India’s Constituent Assembly and the story of making of the Constitution of India.
  • Making of the Constitution: It gives the understanding of how constitution was created and debates that took place among members of constituent assembly.
  • India becomes a Republic: There is a larger than life Installation of the artwork of the original copy of the Constitution of India.
  • Democratic India: The walls of this room shows how Indian Parliament functions and helps to understand foundation of Political democracy in India.
  • Constitutional Amendments: This section shows how our constitution has been evolved over the decades.
  • Early Life and Political Journey till 1946: This gallery provides a complete perspective on the life and accomplishments of Pandit Nehru.
  • Partition: This section of the Museum shows the videos and images related to partition displayed on Graphic Panels.
  • Bedroom, Sitting and Study room: This area shows Nehru’s bedroom, sitting and study in its original form.
  • Nehru Gallery: This Gallery shows the complete view & political development of Newly-Independent India. It tells about reorganisations of states, the Kashmir war 1947-48, the first general elections, etc.
  • Tryst with Destiny: This section has the Famous “Tryst with Destiny’ speech of Pandit Nehru written by his own hand.
  • India-China War: This section has on display the series of events that unfolded during the 1962 war, starting from China’s sudden invasion across the border to their subsequent declaration of a Unilateral ceasefire in response to the resolute resistance by the Indian Defense forces.
  • Toshakhana Zone: This section has on display 100+ memorabilia and artefacts received by Indian Prime Minister as gift from different countries across the globe.

  • Levitating Emblem & Kinetic Wings: The entrance of the museum has a 3D printed National Emblem gracefully spinning in the air. There is also an Artistic Mobile Installation comprising numerous Kinetic LED Lights which creates a vibrant pattern representing the National Flag symbolising the ideals of freedom, progress and the nation’s growth.
  • Parichay: This section contribution of Indian Prime Ministers which shaped the Nation.
  • Freedom and Unity: This section of the Museum tells about the freedom struggle which was led by Mahatma Gandhi, the story of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose and Indian National Army and the incorporation of the state done by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
  • Time Machine: This section of Museum allows a person to see the past as how India change and Transform.
  • Selfie with Prime Minister: This section allows you to take selfie with your favorite Prime Minister by the help of AR (Augmented Reality).
  • Handwriting Robot: This robot can write an Inspirational Quotes for you which will be signed by your favourite Prime Minister.
  • Unity of Wall: It allows you to stand with various other people in front of the Unity Wall.

  • Bhavishya ki Jhalkiyan: This is a helicopter ride which will take you to India’s futuristic development with the help of 360 degree virtual reality projection.
  • Lal Qile ke Prachir se: This allow you to experience the unforgettable speeches delivered by the Prime Minister at the Iconic Red Fort.

  • Add-Ons: VR Helicopter ride involves body swaying and swinging and may cause vertigo. Visitors take the VR Helicopter ride at their own risk. Experiential installations using Chroma Key technology do not capture green colour and green clothes result in a sub-optimal experience.
  • Videography of the Sound and Light Show is prohibited
  • Visitors are expected to arrive in time for their selected slot(s) for the experiences. Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya will not be responsible for any non-delivery of experience due to late arrival. Visitors should not damage/alter/vandalise the property of Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya and doing so can result in legal action.
